November Updates from the Amazon: New Photos, Trip Prep Guides, & Open Spots

Acute Angling

This month, we’re excited to share a glimpse into the unforgettable experiences our guests enjoyed on the Rio Aripuanã this past summer.

From shifting tropical weather to up-close wildlife encounters and incredible multi-species fishing, the river delivered adventure at every turn. Photographer Porter Smith joined us on the water and captured some truly remarkable moments…monkeys, macaws, toucans, and the kind of fishing action the Aripuanã is known for.

We’ve included his portfolio below, along with important updates, new Trip Prep Guides, and current openings for upcoming trips.

Let’s go! ⬇️

Through Porter Smith’s Lens: The Rio Aripuanã

This past summer I had the pleasure of accompanying Porter Smith to the Aripuanã. Fortunately, mother nature provided a wonderful week changing weather patterns, wildlife encounters, and some great fishing. His photo portfolio can be found here:

We were especially blessed during a short hike near the satellite camp where we had one of our best monkey encounters. A large group of them were near the path and stayed within photographing distance for 20 minutes.

Monkeys can be tricky to photograph at times, and we were especially grateful to capture some photos of these wonderful animals. Along the trail we also got some nice shots of Toucans and Macaws. In general, the Rio Aripuanã delivered some incredible fishing this past summer.

Two of our clients Dean and Daryl caught 17 species of fish during their week including a few less common catches such as Tambaqui, Apapa, and a Pirapitinga.

New Trip Prep Guides!

In past we had one trip prep guide that was used for all the fishing locations in Brazil. However, there are some small differences in the trips in terms of tipping policies, what to pack, and transfers.

To make sure travel preparation is clear we created trip preparation guides for each trip in Brazil. You can find the trip preparation guides for all the trips here:

We hope these guides will serve as a helpful resource as you prepare for your fishing trip with Acute Angling. If you have any questions the Trip Prep Guides do not address, please reach out to us!

Grateful for a busy November at Acute Angling

November is an incredibly busy time of year for us. We currently have trips running for Peacock Bass on the Black Water Explorer and the Bungalows. We also have our fall season on the Rio Aripuanã, and the new Golden Dorado location is rocking and rolling. Not to mention we are preparing everything for trade show season in January-March.

We are not complaining about being busy. In fact, we are super grateful to all of you who fish with us and support all those associated with Acute Angling. We value your business and friendships, and we appreciate being busy this time of year.

If you want to get on the water this season, please know we still have some spaces for the Black Water Explorer and a few for the Bungalows. We hope you can visit us before the season ends.
