New IGFA Slam, Argentina Videos, and Rio Aripuanã Season Starts July 14

July is shaping up to be an exciting month for South American anglers. IGFA has announced a brand-new South American Royal Slam, we've added two new videos from Argentina, and we're highlighting one of our favorite ways to combine world-class golden dorado fishing with an unforgettable dove hunt. The Rio Aripuanã season also kicks off on July 14, so be sure to follow us on Facebook and Instagram as we'll be sharing photos and videos of our clients' catches throughout the season. IGFA announced new Royal Slam for South America

Travelling anglers have a new challenge. The International Game Fish Association (IGFA) recently announced the new South American Royal Slam, recognizing anglers who catch an impressive variety of the continent's most iconic gamefish over their lifetime. We were a bit surprised that Arapaima didn't make the list. While we understand that healthy arapaima fisheries are relatively limited compared to many other South American gamefish, they're still one of the Amazon's most unforgettable fish. Their size, power, and prehistoric appearance make them a bucket-list species for many anglers. Luckily, we know where strong populations of arapaima are located and have trips where you can target them even if they don’t help with the royal slam.

Regardless we are happy about IGFA’s new slam, and whether you're just beginning your South American fishing journey or already have several species checked off your list, the new Royal Slam is a fun excuse to explore some of the world's most incredible fisheries

Day Dove Hunt Now Available with Golden Dorado Parana River Trip

Imagine spending the morning casting for explosive golden dorado before heading into the Argentine countryside for an afternoon of world-class dove shooting. It's one of our favorite ways to experience everything this region has to offer.

Often called the "Paris of South America," Buenos Aires combines incredible food, historic neighborhoods, tango, museums, and beautiful architecture. If your itinerary allows, we highly recommend spending a couple of days exploring the city before or after your Argentina fishing adventure.
